FoxyVPN - Windows XP OpenVPN VPN Configuration Tutorial

Setting up your VPN is easy. Simply follow the steps below.

1) Download the OpenVPN software from http://openvpn.net/index.php/open-source/downloads.html. You need the "Windows Installer".

2) Once the file is downloaded, double click the file to start the install process.

3) Click "Next" to continue the installation process.

4) Agree to the terms of service.

5) Have all components selected (make sure all have checkmarks), and the click "Next".

6) Click the "Install" button.

7) A warning window may pop up, click "Continue Anyway".

8) An OpenVPN setup message will pop up, click "OK".

9) Once the installation is completed click "Next".

10) Now click "Finish".

11) Now that the install is completed you need to configure the software. Go to your start menu in the lower left corner of the screen, then select "programs", then "openvpn", then "OpenVPN Gui".

12) The OpenVPN icon will now be in your system tray in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

13) Open your FoxyVPN Dashboard and in the rightmost panel click "Switch to OpenVPN". Select OpenVPN in the popup and then click "Change Type". Now that your Dashboard is set to OpenVPN click the "Download Config" button.

14) Navgate to "c:\program files\OpenVPN\config" and copy the configuration file you just downloaded into that folder.

15) Right click on the OpenVPN icon in your system tray (lower right corner of the screen). Choose "Connect " from the menu.

16) While connecting to your new VPN you will see the window fill with data. This is normal and if there are any problems in the future this screen will help our technicians.

You can now use your new VPN!
